Hosted Kyoto City Katagihara Junior High School's Life Exploration and Challenge Experience (Workplace Experience) Program
For three days from June 17th to 19th, we welcomed two students from Kyoto City Katagihara Junior High School and conducted the Life Exploration and Challenge Experience (work experience) for them.
The Life Exploration and Challenge Experience is an educational program that provides junior high school students with an opportunity to develop an attitude of learning and thinking for themselves through work experience, and to consider their own way of being and their way of life as members of a group or society.
For them to understand the work of a trading company, our employees gave lectures and provided hands-on experience to learn about the process of purchasing Chilean sea urchins and selling them to Japanese customers.
The students seemed very nervous at first, but were enthusiastic about the project. They came to realize that the food they eat in their daily lives is delivered through the hands of many different people.
We will continue our educational support activities through similar programs.
