We Conducted a 5-Day Internship Program
From August 17 to August 21, we conducted a five-day internship program for 13 university students.
During this internship, participating students took on the role of project members responsible for developing a new business venture at Ocean Trading Co., Ltd. and challenged themselves to plan and create a new export business.
Through the program, students first deepened their understanding of market conditions and consumer needs in various countries by analyzing overseas markets. They then worked on selecting target export destinations and formulating sales strategies, gaining practical experience in the process of new business development within a trading company.
Rather than simply generating ideas, participants were encouraged to examine their proposals from the perspectives of business viability and feasibility, such as whether the project could generate profits and whether the products could realistically be exported. This enabled them to experience both the excitement and the challenges involved in turning a new business concept into reality.
Participating students shared positive feedback, including comments such as, “I was able to gain a deeper understanding of how a trading company operates through work that closely reflected actual business activities,” and “I realized how rewarding it is to build a business project through repeated team discussions and collaboration.”
We hope that this program helped students deepen their understanding of both the trading business and our company, and that it provided all participants with a meaningful and rewarding five-day experience.
